Officer MacClary was killed when his police motorcycle struck the passenger side of a vehicle. Officer MacClary was attempting to stop a speeder when another vehicle turned in front of him during rush hour traffic. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges were filed against the driver who turned in front of him.

Officer MacClary was a U.S. Air Force veteran and had served with the Hendersonville Police Department for 4 years. He was survived by his wife, who was nine-months pregnant at the time of the accident, and his 12-year-old daughter.

Sergeant Sadek was killed in a motorcycle accident while attempting to catch up to a traffic violator. His police motorcycle struck the back of a truck, causing fatal injuries.

Sergeant Sadek had served with the Hendersonville Police Department for 4 years. He was survived by his wife, parents, and four sisters.

Sergeant Bandy was struck and killed by a motorcycle which was driving recklessly through a neighborhood. He had responded to the scene after receiving reports of the motorcycle. When he observed the suspect in his rear-view mirror he stopped his patrol car and exited it. As he did so the motorcycle struck him. The suspect crashed and was arrested at the scene and charged with second degree murder.

Sergeant Bandy was survived by his wife.

Officer Gammons suffered a fatal heart attack during the foot pursuit of a suspect. The pursuit started as a vehicle pursuit and the suspect suddenly stopped and fled on foot.

Officer Gammons was survived by his wife and son.
